ABOUT US

HSBC Canada Sevens has been a fixture on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series since 2016. In 2022-23, the Series consists of 11 men’s and 7 women’s tournaments held around the world in which national sevens teams compete for Series points. The 2022-23 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series kicks off November 4th in Hong Kong, and an overall champion for both men and women will be crowned at the end of the season based on points accumulated throughout all of the events. Sevens rugby, a fast-paced and shorter version of traditional rugby with only seven players per side, has built a huge international audience which attracts large crowds in markets around the world.

HSBC Canada Sevens is a three-day indoor rugby sevens tournament, hosted March 3-5, 2023 at the world-class BC Place Stadium, host venue to Canada’s most prestigious events, and will feature 28 of the world’s top men’s and women’s sevens teams. Sevens tournaments are a combination of high-octane rugby on the pitch and an international festival of costumes, colour, and downright craziness off it!

The Canada Sevens tournament is hosted by BC Place Stadium –Western Canada’s premier stadium venue. The largest sports, exhibition and entertainment venue of its kind in British Columbia, BC Place is home to the HSBC Canada Sevens, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, BC Lions, BC Sports Hall of Fame and will be a host venue for the FIFA World Cup 2026. An all-new BC Place reopened in September 2011 following a complete revitalization, including a picturesque cable-supported retractable roof, seats for over 54,000 and North America’s second largest centre-hung high-definition score board. With its stunning location in downtown Vancouver – BC Place is within steps of all the city has to offer in terms of entertainment, cuisine and nightlife.
